The Argyle Lofts
OverviewCompleted in 2007, the Argyle Lofts, at 183 Dovercourt Road, are converted from an old bakery, in fact a series of bakeries. Originally built in 1873 as the Ideal Bread Company Factory, the site was bought the next year by John Dempster, who ran his own grocery store and his first bakery, before selling it in 1909 to three other bakers. The Loftsﾠneighbour ﾗ Trinity Bellwoods Parkﾠﾗﾠone of the cityﾒs outstanding green spaces and recreational areas ﾗ and the building is also in the centre of Torontoﾒs artiest stretch, and is a haven for those looking for galleries, bookstores, antiques, clothing stores and food. The five-storey building offers 86 units.
